This was on the 29th of November. We were planning this event for a long time. It was our first out of college event that the students put on by ourselves. We were raising awareness of homelessness in the Sault. We showcased a film called Invisible People and collected food items for 3 of the local homeless shelters.

This was a picture from WUSC day. Our class set up a table and sold left over fair trade food from the Ten Thousand Villages Festival we held in November. We also added some links to our already existing paper peace chain. People wrote a message of peace on a paper link to be added to in years to come. Thanks to Marie-Joseé for the picture c:

On Friday the 15th of November the Peace and Conflict Studies students along with one of out GAS friends attended the Soup Kitchen Sleepover. This was an effort to raise awareness of the reality of homelessness in the Soo. This experience was definitely eye opening. Just experiencing being out in the cold all night in the middle of November and realizing that those people have to do that every night, even if their toes get cold there is not a warm house waiting for them when they decide enough is enough. Despite the cold we all managed to last until the morning when we tore down the box we crafted and all went home. The first picture is of our box in the middle of being built and the second is of me hiding from the cold while Duncan snaps a picture.
